How to remove our remote support & RMM

Not needing our remote support services any longer, or just dont want our light weight servicing tool on your system? Uninstall it using these instructions.

In order to fully remove our remote support and RMM tools from your system, you will need to uninstall both the RMM program, AteraAgent, and remote support tool, Splashtop for RMM.

Note: You need to uninstall the AteraAgent first otherwise it will reinstall Splashtop for RMM if you do not.

Finding Programs & Features

You can bring up the list of programs installed on your system.

Uninstall options from the Settings page

  1. Click the Start Menu search bar and type Programs and Features. Or click the direct Microsoft link: open programs & features in Settings
  2. From this Apps & Features window, you can scan the list of programs or search for the programs you want to uninstall. Either right-click or use the 3 vertical dot menu icon to uninstall.

From the Apps & Features windows look for AteraAgent in the list and uninstall it. Either right-click or use the vertical 3 dots to uninstall.

If you do not see AteraAgent in the list, proceed to the next step.

Uninstalling Splashtop components

Once AteraAgent is uninstalled, find the following programs, Splashtop Software Updater, Splashtop for RMM, and, Splashtop Streamer and uninstall them in this order.

  1. Locate Splashtop Software Updater from the list and uninstall it by right-click | uninstall or choosing uninstall from the 3 vertical dot menu at the end.
  2. Next, you will find Splashtop for RMM from the list and uninstall it by right-click | uninstall or choosing uninstall from the 3 vertical dot menu at the end.
  3. Right click on Splashtop Streamer from the list and uninstall it by right-click | uninstall or choosing uninstall from the 3 vertical dot menu at the end.

Note: If you do not see any of these components, ignore and  continue removing the others.

Reboot Computer

Finally, to complete the process, restart your PC.
