GMC stands for a General Maintenance Cleanup and is a procedure we do on a computer to bring it back to proper operation. It is essentially an 'oil and lube' for your computer. Almost all computers we come in contact with we do a GMC on due to the agressive nature of spyware, rogue programs and the 'inaccuracies' built into the Windows operating system.
What we do in a GMC;
- Check & Remove Spyware/Ad-ware bots: This illiminates privacy issues and hidden rogue programs running on your computer. Greatly speeds up the computer!
- Check & Remove Viruses: nuff said...
- Integrity fix on Windows: removes corrupted entries in Windows subsystems, speeding operation.
- Updates: Update the numerous programs needed for general use and Internet files like Acrobat Reader and WinZip, WinRar and all whole host of useful programs.
- Windows Updates: Update Windows with the latest bug fixes, Service Packs(SP) and security updates.
- Other checks and cleanups: Depending on the degree of corruption we perform a number of other tasks necessary.
This GMC will bring your computer back to a stable and proper functioning baseline. We also leave our Spyware/Ad-ware program cleaner on your computer so you can use this at a later date.
This process usually takes one hour.
